Westside Church of Christ History

The Westside Church of Christ in Waldo began in 1954 at 201 Adair Street in Waldo, Arkansas under the leadership of the late Brother R. L. James.  Since then we have had only 6 other ministers who worked with the congregation.  Brother Earnest Carter, Brother Claude Nation, Brother George Jackson, Brother Jeffers Jefferson, Brother Leo Holleman, and our present minister, Brother Donald Wayne Howell have all contributed to nourishment and growth of the congregation.

You should know that the church is built by Jesus Christ and was purchased with his own blood.  Jesus Christ is the foundation for the church and is the head of the church.  It is also known as his bride.  Members are simply called:  "Christians" which means Christ like.  Scriptures to read; Matt. 16:13-18; Acts 20:28; 1Cor. 3:11; 1Cor. 1:12-13.
